What's up with the whole hostess club thing

Well this was an interesting peek into a bit of Japanese culture! But what is a keitai e-mail address?
This made me laugh : "I'm not really interested in what other people do, so it's not really a big deal."
I hear you!
Ops sorry- "keitai" is a Japanese word for "mobile phone". Basically the address for texting. At default your mobile phone e-mail/text address is your phone number, but since all kinds of spam senders try those combination of numbers, most people give themselves an e-mail/text address.
It's really interesting that they assume. I'm not sure if I like this look into the minds of male salarymen of a certain age. Makes me depressed.

And it's great that you don't care what other people do. But I think that's not so common.
Yeah, what is up with the whole hostess club thing? I've been working in hostess clubs for years, and I still don't get it!
Don't knock it til you've tried it! ^_^ just kidding... I think you have got it figured out. I wonder about it too. Yesterday I was kind of observing how many (Japanese) hostesses were strolling around with customers around dinner time... there are so many!!

It is probably a business that will die out after a while, I think. A lot of the college age Japanese guys I have met think it's ridiculous...

Ah! Okay. Thanks! ;)
So... a mobile text address is different than your actual mobile number?
If so, I wish I could do that.
That's right, although it's optional. But as far as I know, everyone picks a text address to avoid the deluge of spams. (so your mobile phone number may be 090-1234-5678, where your mobile text address is abcdef@docomo.co.jp.
